in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Kheda, Ahmedabad and Surendranagar Districts.

 Water quality campaign in all programme villages :- Pilot examination of effectual water refinement liquid named ‘Piyush’
 Project Implementation of Lift Irrigation Scheme with three year Operation and Maintenance contract with local level Cooperative Society of scheme command area in Godhra & Shahera block of Panchmahal district. Funded by Gujarat Water Resource Development Corporation, Gandhinagar.
 Creation of local level Cooperative Society, Registration in Circle office of GWRDC and also in Assistant Registrar of District and Operation for three years in the project of Lift Irrigation in 08 Villages of Shahera and 03 Villages of Godhra of Panchmahal district.
 Implementation of Target Intervention [T.I.] project in Godhra, Halol & Kalol urban area region on Female Sex Worker [FSW] funded by Gujarat State Aids Control Society, Ahmedabad.
 Construction of Low Cost Toilet blocks for APL & BPL families under Nirmal Gujarat Sanitation Programme in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Kadi Municipality. Funded by Gujarat Municipal Finance Board, Gandhinagar.
 Reverse Osmosis Plant [R.O.] & Ultra Violet [U.V.] water purification system installed in primary schools in several blocks of Sabarkantha district. Funded by Water & Sanitation Management Organisation [WASMO], Gandhinagar.

Research Study :
Preparing a data base of socio economic status of farmers.

Scope and Methodology :
The central purpose of the study is to present a concurrent assessment of the Project with
special reference to a host of key parameters and indicators those form part and impact the
project the most during and after implementation of the programme. A secondary purpose
is also to create useful database that would not only serve as reference for future similar
assessments but also be used as corrective during and after the process is over.

Baseline Study:

A baseline study of the operational areas has been conducted to understand the socio –
economic profile of the communities. This study provided an in-depth understanding of the
area. This understanding was also helped in designing the employment condition and
livelihood interventions in the area.
Accordingly, the major concerns of the study included the following:

Plan to find work choice for farmers:

Developing the employment programme for the community needs a structured approach
going beyond project cycle frameworks. To achieve this transition Garud has facilitated
formulation of business cum work plans for affected farmers.
To find out viable employment options for the farmers particularly farmer women was the
biggest challenge for Garud. According to Garud, earning women can be additional source of
income of the family.

It is also understandable that Development is a joint -venture, a collective approach for the
weaker section is the appropriate way of individual development, keeping in view the fact
Garud has always put in effect to organize people so that they would find their ways
and means for their upliftment & be helpful to the needy amongst themselves.
In this process of development Garud tried to cover all sort of the society like farmers,
women, labours, & also physically disables. Garud facilitated to emphasize habit of
small – saving.
