“GARUD” came into existence as a result of the concerns of few committed people to secure
integrated development through people’s participation. The key areas identified for
interventions were watershed development, wasteland development, local resource
management, health and hygiene, sanitation, education, gender and environmental issues.
Our efforts resulted in long lasting association with Government agencies and also the
communities and groups with whom we have worked all these years.
We have come a long way after a small beginning in May, 1991 and in a span of few eventful
years we have implemented a wide variety of projects.
We look out for the various problems of the under developed and undeveloped sections of
society with an eagle’s eye view and strive for the ways and means to provide solutions
by facilitation. Participation in the endeavor for the uplift of their lots has resulted in
enhancement of their living standards.
